Avery's Art Contest
Do you like to draw just like Avery does?
Here's how to enter Avery's latest art contest!
Book 5 Competition start date: December 2, 2025.
Book 5 Competition end date: January 20, 2026.

In book 5, Key's Secret, Avery tries to draw butterfly wings. For this contest, we want you to pick a specific butterfly and draw it, including the intricate detail of its wings. Then, label your butterfly with its common name plus the scientific name. (Remember, scientific names need to be underlined. Capitalize the genus but leave the species lower case.)

You may use pencil, paints, markers, crayons, or any other media you prefer.

Have your parent or guardian take a photo of your drawing (please include your FIRST NAME ONLY on the front of the drawing).

Have your parent or guardian email the picture to jenniferarrington@beachhousebusiness.com. Make sure that the email includes:

your FIRST NAME ONLY on the front of the picture

your age and full name in the email

You can submit up to three drawings per contestant. You’ll receive a confirmation email within 48 hours. If you don’t, please resend your entry.

The competition is open only to children up to and including age 13.

Artwork must be the original work of the child and not be traced from an outside source.

Entries will be judged according to accuracy and artistry. Winners will receive recognition on Instagram and via our newsletter.

Winners will also receive a book of their choice plus recognition in Book 6!

A parent or guardian must provide entries. No personal information will be shared beyond the winners' first name, unless the parent or guardian provides express permission. By entering, you grant permission for your child’s artwork to be shared on our website, newsletter, or social media, credited by first name and age only.
