About Us

Jennifer and Albrey love anything outdoors and, with a desire to incorporate their love of the outdoors into a children's adventure series, came up with Apex Adventures.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer started her first novel as a 9-year-old, writing in messy cursive, filling pages of an empty notebook. Her book was set in a boarding school for girls, and she had pictures drawn of the school, the dorms, the grounds, and, of course, the netball courts. The first person she gave my book to said that it was missing some conflict, and she remembers responding, "Well, there are, of course, mean girls."

As a former chemistry teacher and researcher who plays the piano, loves books, paddleboarding, and snorkeling, Jennifer is interested in a little of everything and thus write across multiple genres. Inspired by her husband's musings, their newest books, the children's adventure series, incorporate the science she loves with the stories that live in her head.

Meet Albrey

D. Albrey Arrington, Ph.D. is a scientist who has a deep passion for creation and works to protect natural systems. As a child, he spent countless hours exploring the outdoors with his family, which sparked his interest in science. Dr. Arrington has studied in wild, remote places from the Amazon basin to tidal creeks in the Bahamas, worked to restore the Kissimmee River in Florida, and works to protect the National Wild & Scenic Loxahatchee River in his hometown of Jupiter, FL. He has authored or co-authored over 60 scientific articles related to his research. His work helps ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the same beautiful places and animals that we have today.
